Sarah, an English major, has published short stories, poems, and prose in Portals Literary & Arts Magazine (2012) and Read This Please (2011-2012), also available on Kindle. She has attended numerous writing workshops and conferences, including several events at UNCW’s Writers’ Week. After completing her BFA studies, Sarah plans to pursue an MFA in Creative Writing.
In addition to writing, Sarah also enjoys photography and art in many of it’s forms. She has had art displayed in the Hanover Art Gallery in Wilmington, NC (2012) and been published in Photographer’s Forum Magazine for the Emerging Professional (2012). Drawn to nature photography, she strives to capture unique moments in time- a butterfly lighting on a flower, a spider building her web, a squirrel in search of nuts.
A few great quotes about art, photography, and writing:
The dignity of the artist lies in his duty of keeping awake the sense of wonder in the world. In this long vigil he often has to vary his methods of stimulation; but in this long vigil he is also himself striving against a continual tendency to sleep. ~Gilbert K. Chesterton ~
I am an artist… I am here to live out loud. ~Emile Zola~
